Students serve during Big Red Day of Service

The Huntingdon College motto, “Enter to Grow in Wisdom; Go Forth to Apply Wisdom in Service,” will serve as the guiding principle for Huntingdon’s annual Big Red Day of Service, Saturday, August 23. More than 300 students, faculty and staff will be involved with community service projects in 10 locations around the city from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday.

Huntingdon College becomes smoke-free

Huntingdon College will begin the fall semester 2014 as a smoke-free campus, an initiative that began with a bill passed by the College’s Student Government Association last spring. The bill was signed into policy by President J. Cameron West in April. The “HC is Smoke-Free” initiative became effective August 1 and includes all forms of smoking tobacco, including cigarettes, cigars, pipes, hookahs, and e-cigarettes, and all College-owned properties, including off-campus housing.

Huntingdon Ability Sport Network earns second year of funding

08.13.2014: The Huntingdon College Ability Sport Network (HC-ASN) will kick-off its fall season Saturday, August 16, with Red Wings Basketball, a wheelchair basketball team for children ages 6–21, in James W. Wilson Jr. Gymnasium, Will and Kelly Wilson Community and Athletic Center on Huntingdon’s Cloverdale Campus. Registration begins at 9:00 a.m. and the program concludes after lunch at 1:00 p.m.
