Offices close for Christmas break

Huntingdon College offices will be closed from Thursday, December 24, through Wednesday, January 6, for the Christmas and New Year holiday break. Offices will reopen Thursday, January 7.

President West authors chapter in book

Huntingdon College President J. Cameron West is one of seven contributing authors to a book to be published by the General Board of Higher Education and Ministry of the United Methodist Church. The book, Conversations: Leading United Methodist-related Schools, Colleges, and Universities, grew out of the National Association of Schools and Colleges of the United Methodist Church’s seventy-fifth annual meeting.

Huntingdon receives Lilly Endowment grant to expand church leadership program

Huntingdon College has received a grant of $596,285 for the establishment of an expanded Huntingdon Leadership Academy (HLA). The grant is part of Lilly Endowment Inc.’s High School Youth Theology Institutes initiative, which seeks to encourage young people to explore theological traditions, ask questions about the moral dimensions of contemporary issues and examine how their faith calls them to lives of service.

Huntingdon, Duke Divinity School sign agreement

Huntingdon College President J. Cameron West and Duke Divinity School Dean Ellen F. Davis have signed a Memorandum of Understanding between the college and the divinity school.

Ability Sport Network ready to roll

The Huntingdon College Ability Sport Network’s Red Wings wheelchair basketball team will host the Music City wheelchair team at home Saturday, December 12. The teams will face-off in the Ability Sport Network Invitational at 9:30 a.m. and again at 11:30 a.m. in James W. Wilson Jr. Gymnasium, Wilson Community and Athletic Center on the Cloverdale Campus (adjacent to W. James Samford Jr. Stadium).

Eggleston named provost, other appointments announced

As I announced to the Faculty just before Thanksgiving, I am now pleased to announce to the entire Huntingdon College Family that Dr. Chad Eggleston will begin service as Provost and Dean of the College effective January 1, 2016. I am also naming Dr. Eggleston as Professor of Biblical Interpretation
