Martin Luther King Jr. Commemoration

Held in January, two events combine to commemorate the birth of Civil Rights leader and Montgomery preacher Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.  On Martin Luther King Jr. Day, the College observes a Day of Service, when no classes are held but students, faculty, and staff may put their hands and hearts to work in service to the community.  A gospel concert rounds out the celebration.
