With the gargoyles keeping watch over Huntingdon and her students, the multitudes of memories made create for each alumna or alumnus a forever home: a home that is defined uniquely by how each student experienced life at the “fair college on the plains;” a home to remember with classmates and one that continues to grow for new generations; a home to which you are always welcomed warmly.

8:30 a.m.–Noon  Huntingdon Prospective Student Preview Day

Is there a high school student in your circle of influence who would be a good fit for Huntingdon? Many of our current students and alumni came to Huntingdon because of the encouragement of a member of our alumni family. Continue the legacy by bringing a high school student to see our beautiful campus and to visit with faculty and students. Contact the Huntingdon College Office of Admission at (334) 833-4497 or 800-763-0313 to register a high school student to participate in Preview Day.

 11:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m.  Scarlet and Grey Alumni and Friends Tailgate

South End Zone, W. James Samford Jr. Stadium come participate in one of the great traditions at Huntingdon: pregame tailgating! Last year we welcomed nearly 1,000 returning Hawks and we’re planning for even more this year. We will greet you at the large tent on the visitors’ side of the football field, with plenty of tables and chairs, inflatables to help keep the little Hawks entertained, and a BBQ pork and chicken tailgate lunch. Entry into the tailgating area is free; lunch plates are $12 and must be purchased in advance using the Homecoming 2016 Registration Form.

 12:30 p.m.  The Hawk Walk

From the alumni tailgating area you’ll have great seats to watch the Hawk Walk as the Huntingdon cheerleaders and the Huntingdon Marching Scarlet and Grey parade down Fairview Avenue to the stadium. The band will stop beside the alumni tent to serenade you with the Huntingdon Fight Song.

Former Homecoming and May Queens join the half-time celebration

1:00 p.m.  Hawks Football vs. Ferrum College

James Samford Jr. Stadium — cheer the Hawks to victory and enjoy the halftime crowning of the 2016 Homecoming Queen. Tickets are $10 for an individual or $20 for a family. Tickets are available at the gate or in advance using the Homecoming 2016 Registration Form. Former Homecoming Queens and May Queens are invited to participate in the halftime ceremony. Returning Queens, please contact the Alumni Office at (334) 833-4528 or aleigh@hawks.huntingdon.edu for halftime instructions.

4:30 p.m. Fraternity and Sorority Open Houses

Information will be provided to Greek alumni by the individual chapters.

5:00–7:00 p.m. Huntingdon Homecoming Class Socials

Join your classmates and those from surrounding years to reminisce about the past and celebrate the future! Below are suggested locations by graduation years and classes celebrating milestone reunions:

  • Alumni through 1989 (including reunions for classes ’81 and ’86): The Exchange, The Renaissance Hotel, 201 Tallapoosa Street
  • 1990–2005 (including reunions for classes ’91 and ’96): The Pine Bar, 501 Cloverdale Road
  • Class of 2001 15-Year Reunion Social: 6:30 p.m., Irish Bred Pub, 78 Dexter Ave., please email alumni@hawks.huntingdon.edu to RSVP for this class event. 
  • 2006–2016 (including reunions for classes ’06 and ’11): Leroy Lounge, 2752 Boultier Avenue

8:00–11:00 p.m. Huntingdon Homecoming Hangout

The Alley Bar/The Aviator Bar, Downtown Montgomery—downtown Montgomery is a hub for great restaurants and entertainment spots. After your social time with classmates and dinner with your friends, come to the Alley Bar/The Aviator Bar as the designated late-night spot for Huntingdon alumni to enjoy an evening of music and primetime college football games. There will be no cover charge for alumni who present their Alumni Ribbon or their ticket stub from the Huntingdon football game.
