In the quaint and beautiful section of Montgomery known as Old Cloverdale, students can walk to boutiques, specialty shops, an art gallery, an independent movie theater, and several restaurants in the block adjacent to the Cloverdale Campus. Just across from the football field is Capitol Book and News, an independent book seller with cozy spaces for browsing and reading. A block further west, Sinclair’s, Tomatino’s, El Rey, and Cafe Louisa have become favorite student hang-outs. The Capri Theater shows foreign and independent films and holds special movie nights for selected occasions. A bit further down the block, Richardson’s Pharmacy is a treasure trove of trinkets and gift items in addition to an easy-access spot for daily needs. Businesses such as dress and gift shops, shoe repair, antiques, jewelry, dry-cleaning, a salon, and sewing machine supplies also pepper this eclectic part of town.
