Experience the World
There is nothing like travel-study to open our eyes to our similarities and differences with other cultures. For this reason, as part of the Huntingdon Plan, Huntingdon students may travel and study during the junior or senior year in groups with faculty; and most costs are covered within regular tuition and fees. Through travel/study, Huntingdon students experience the world, deepening their personal understanding and setting them apart in their endeavors after graduation.
Students have traveled in groups or as individuals to six continents through the Huntingdon Plan. Destinations have included Alaska, Australia, Austria, the Caribbean Islands, China, Costa Rica, England, France, Germany, Greece, Hawaii, Ireland, Northern Ireland, Israel, Italy, Kenya, Korea, Luxembourg, Mexico, New Zealand, Panama, Peru, Scotland, and Spain, as well as parts of the continental United States.
Through an agreement with the Business Education Iniative in Northern Ireland and the Board of Higher Education and Ministry of the United Methodist Church, one or two Huntingdon students may study for a semester or a year in Northern Ireland in the Irish-American Scholars Program each year. A special application process is required.
In addition, through the Hawks on the Hill program, Huntingdon is a partner in the Washington Semester Program with American University, through which students may spend a semester in Washington, D.C., studying, working, and researching a topic in-depth.
