Please download and print your music ahead of time for rehearsal purposes.  You should bring your own copies of the music to the Marching Honor Band.

IT WOULD BE TO YOUR GREAT BENEFIT TO PRACTICE AND POSSIBLY MEMORIZE THESE TUNES, AND WE ASK THAT YOU COME PREPARED.

This year’s musical selections include:

  • Huntingdon Fanfare
  • Sgt. Pepper Medley
  • Battle Hymn Chorale
  • The Hawk’s Flight (Huntingdon Fight Song)

IF THERE IS MORE THAN ONE PART FOR YOUR INSTRUMENT ON A PARTICULAR TUNE, PLEASE FOLLOW THESE GUIDELINES:

  • If there are two parts, then seniors and juniors play 1st and sophomores and freshmen play 2nd.
  • If there are three parts, then seniors play 1st, juniors play 2nd, and sophomores and freshmen play 3rd.

What to Bring

  • Attire for the performance: our 2017 MHB T-Shirt and khaki shorts/pants
    • Majorettes (only) may wear their uniforms, if desired
  • Attire for rehearsal: comfortable, appropriate clothes
  • Your own Flip Folder with show music printed (see link for music access)
  • Lyre for Flip Folder (if needed—winds and percussion)
  • Your own instrument (winds and percussion) *pit equipment provided
  • Sticks and mallets (percussion)
  • One flag (Color Guard)
  • Two batons (Majorettes)
  • Pom poms (Guard and Majorettes)

Ticket and Lunch Information

Marching Honor Band Participants and accompanying Band Directors will not be required to purchase game tickets.  A complimentary lunch will also be provided.

Each participant will be given a “Family Admission Ticket” at registration that will allow free admission for family members attending to watch the Honor Band.  However, family members accompanying participants will be responsible for their own lunch.

T-Shirt and Medals

All attendees of the Marching Honor Band will receive a complimentary T-shirt and Marching Honor Band Medallion. PARTICIPANTS MUST BE PRESENT ON THE DAY OF THE EVENT TO RECEIVE THEIR SHIRT AND MEDAL.

Schedule of Events, Saturday, September 16

8:00 a.m. – Registration at W. James Jr. Samford Stadium

8:45 a.m. – Rehearsal with Marching Scarlet and Grey

10:00 a.m. – Set up stands

10:30 a.m. – Percussion & Auxiliaries Brunch in Dining Hall

10:45 a.m. –Woodwind Brunch in Dining Hall

11:00 a.m. – Brass Brunch in Dining Hall

11:45 a.m. – Drumline Sectional at Smith Hall

12:00 p.m. – Meet (for pictures) at Smith Hall in uniforms

12:35 p.m. – “Hawk Walk”

1:00 p.m. – Kickoff: Huntingdon vs. N.C. Wesleyan

4:00 p.m. – Post-Game Concert (in stands) and dismissal.
