Official Website for Houghton Memorial Library
Houghton Memorial Library houses a collection of approximately 108,000 print and electronic volumes, collections of periodicals in print and electronic formats, a non-print collection of over 3,000 videocassettes and dvds, and provides access to approximately 80 electronic databases for general reference and scholarly research. The Library's resources are available through its website and Countess, the on-line catalogue. These resources are augmented by a reciprocal borrowing agreement with other local academic libraries through the Montgomery Higher Education Consortium and through standard interlibrary loan procedures. The library faculty and staff provide orientation and instruction in the effective use of the Library through one-on-one and class sessions including the Library Research Methods course offered in the College's curriculum. During the regular school semesters, the facility is open seven days a week. The Library is an institutional member of the American Library Association and the Association of College and Research Libraries, as well as the Southeastern Library Network (Solinet) and is an Affiliate of the Network of Alabama Academic Libraries.
