Lady Hawks Fall to Maryville 3-0 in “Pink Out” Contest
MONTGOMERY, Ala. - The Huntingdon volleyball team dropped a 3-0 decision to Great South Athletic Conference foe Maryville, 3-0 (30-28, 25-17, 25-18), to cap its “Pink Out” festivities on Saturday afternoon.
With the loss, the Lady Hawks fell to 15-10 overall, while the Lady Scots improved to 24-5 on the season.
Junior Jessica Sharker led Huntingdon with nine kills, while sophomore Abby Carter added seven kills.
Defensively, junior Clare Shannon paced the team with 12 digs and sophomore Alyssa Eason added seven digs. Sharker and fellow junior Christine Whiten each added six digs.
Eason led the offense with 18 assists, while Carter chipped in three solo blocks and three block assists. Senior Carrie Cabaniss recorded a team-high four service aces.
Maryville was led by Lindsy Little with 14 kills and 17 digs, while Kristin Findley also finished with a double-double, posting 12 kills and 10 digs.
Huntingdon will look to rebound on Tuesday, Oct. 27, when it travels to Decatur, Ga., to take on Agnes Scott at 5 p.m.
