HAINES, Fla. --- The No. 2 ranked Huntingdon men’s golf team opened the Fall season with a first-round score of 292. The Hawks trail first-place Greensboro College, followed by Concordia, Skidmore and Transylvania.
Senior J.P. Kircher paced the Hawks with a four-under par day, 74. Kircher is tied for 1st in the field of 74. View www.golfweek.com to see interviews with Kircher and video of his first-round performance.
Cates Culpepper shot a one-under par, 71, for the Hawks tied for ninth placed, with Chase Blaich tied for 26th after shooting a two-over, 74, in the first-round of competition.
Alex Hauser and Jamey Lester each finished tied for 63rd finishing the day with a seven-over par, 79.
Huntingdon will compete in the second-round on Monday, Sept. 13, when Jamey Lester will be the first Hawk to tee-off on the Championship course of the Southern Dunes Golf Course at 7:30 a.m. Follow the Huntingdon men’s golf team by going to www.golfstat.com.
