Huntingdon Soccer Shutout by Millsaps

Jackson, Miss. --- The Huntingdon men’s and women’s soccer team each dropped their respective contest to Millsaps on Wednesday, as the Hawks fell 6-0 and the Lady Hawks were defeated 3-0 to the Majors.

In the women’s contest, the Lady Hawks gave up three first-half goals to the Lady Majors, giving Millsaps a 3-0 victory. Courtney Fredenburg took the only shot on goal for the Lady Hawks in the match.

Jenny Burnash had eight saves in the Lady Hawks loss.

In the men’s game, Millsaps scored three goals in the first half and then added three more in the second to secure the 6-0 victory over the Hawks. Huntingdon took 7 total shots, with Alan Clinton leading the team with two in the contest.

Matt Russell was able to make seven saves in the match for the Hawks.

Both the Huntingdon men’s and women’s teams will look to rebound on Saturday, Oct. 9, when they play host to conference rival Maryville. The women’s match is set at 1 p.m. followed by the men’s at 3 p.m on Huntingdon’s Soccer Field.
