MONTGOMERY, Ala. ---- The
Huntingdon volleyball team fell to cross-town rival Faulkner in five
sets on Tuesday evening, (22-25, 25-13, 25-16, 16-25, 10-15). The
Lady Hawks soccer team falls on the road 2-1 to Spelman.
In the tough loss to
Faulkner, freshman Kelly Kahumoku led the team with 14 kills, while
senior Clare Shannon added 10 in the match. Junior Alyssa Eason
paced the squad with 37 assists.
Defensively, senior
Krissie Jones led the team with 19 digs, while senior Clare Shannon
added 13 digs in the contest. Four Lady Hawks posted one block assist
in the match, including Kelly Kahumoku, Alyssa Eason, Abby Brown, and
Abby Carter.
Junior Alyssa Eason paced
the team with five service aces in the match, followed by senior
Clare Shannon's four.
Earlier on Tuesday, the
Lady Hawks soccer team fell 2-1 on the road to conference opponent
Spelman. Huntingdon's lone score came in the 23rd
minute of action by freshman Crystal Flores, from an assist by junior
Ginger Tyson.
Sophomore Jenny Burnash
recorded ten saves in the loss, while Spelman was able to get two
goals in the match to secure the 2-1 victory.
Huntingdon's volleyball
team (13-13) will look to rebound against Judson at home on Thursday,
Oct. 21st, in
Wilson Athletic Center beginning at 6 p.m. The women's soccer team
(4-9-1) returns to action at home on Tuesday, Oct. 26th,
against Oakwood. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. at the Huntingdon Soccer
Field.
