MONTGOMERY, Ala. ---- The
Huntingdon volleyball team (14-13) took care of business at home on
Thursday night against Judson in three straight sets. The Lady Hawks
held Judson to single-digit scoring in two of the three sets, winning
the match 3-0, (25-9, 25-16, 25-6).
Senior Clare Shannon paced
the squad with 13 kills, while freshman Abby Brown added 9 in the
contest. Junior Alyssa Eason tallied 31 assists to lead the squad.
Defensively, seniors
Christine Whiten and Clare Shannon each led the Lady Hawks with 8
digs. Freshman Melony Motley recorded the only solo block for
Huntingdon, while senior Jessica Sharker and freshman Mallorie
Richardson each contributed one assisted block in the win.
Seniors Clare Shannon and
Christine Whiten each posted four service aces in the match.
Huntingdon will return to
action on Saturday, Oct. 23, hosting a GSAC Tri-match against
Piedmont and Spelman in Wilson Athletic Center. Piedmont and Spelman
will open the day at 12 p.m., followed by Huntingdon against Piedmont
beginning at 4 p.m. The Lady Hawks will end the Tri-match at 6 p.m.
against Spelman on Saturday.
