Huntingdon's Adrian Williams Named Great South Player of the Week in Men's Basketball |
LaGrange, Ga.—The Great South Athletic Conference has named Adrian Williams of Huntingdon College as the Player of the Week in men’s basketball for the week ending January 23. The honor is the first for both Williams and the Huntingdon men’s basketball program this season.
Williams takes home the award after scoring 27 points and pulling down 12 rebounds in a 72-54 victory over GSAC rival LaGrange College. The 6'7" center came within two blocks of posting the first triple-double in the Conference this 2010–11 season as he rejected eight Panther attempts.
The senior's eight blocks against the Panthers in that January 22 win was the most blocks by an individual player in the GSAC to date this season. The next highest number on the list is four—also accomplished by Adrian Williams against Covenant on December 11.
