MONTGOMERY, Ala. --- Huntingdon
College's women's tennis team dropped nine straight matches to the
nations third ranked team, Emory University, at AUM's tennis courts
on Sunday afternoon.
Sophomore Katie Scott and freshman
Hannah Creamer lost at the No. 1 and 2 singles, respectively. Scott
was defeated 7-5 and 6-0 while Creamer fell 6-2 to 6-3. Senior
Kristin McDaniel, a native of Huntsville, lost 6-0 and 6-2.
Junior Jaclyn Crossman, Christian Vick
and sophomore LaTara Lofton all dropped their matches 6-0 and 6-0 to
the Eagles in singles play.
In doubles competition Scott and
McDaniel dropped their No. 1 spot match 8-5 to Emory. Creamer and
Vick fell 8-2, while Crossman and junior Kati Bryant lost the final
doubles match 8-2 giving Emory (1-2) the, 9-0, sweep.
Huntingdon (0-1) returns to the court
on Saturday, Feb. 26, traveling to Oglethorpe University. The match
will begin at 12 p.m. Central.
