Lady Hawks Fall, 5-3, to Hollins in Florida

ORLANDO, Fla. --- The Huntingdon College women's tennis team fell, 5-3, on Tuesday morning to Hollins University in Orlando, Fla.

Hannah Creamer and Kati Bryant picked up Huntingdon's only doubles win, 8-3, over Mariah Bryant and Trudy Siziba at the No. 3 spot.

 

In singles, No. 6 Bryant and No. 1 Katie Scott were the only Lady Hawks' able to defeat their opponent while Hollins wrapped up the victory with three of the five completed singles matches.

 

Doubles  

1. Karen Montoya and Priscilla Montoya (HU) def. Katie Scott and Kristin McDaniel (HC), 8-3

2. Shawnte Woodson and Anne Ailstock (HU) def. Jaclyn Crossman and Christian Vick (HC), 9-7

3. Hannah Creamer and Kati Bryant (HC) def. Mariah Bryant and Trudy Siziba (HU), 8-3

 

Singles  

1. Katie Scott (HC) def. Karen Montoya (HU), 6-4, 6-2

2. Priscilla Montoya (HU) def. Hannah Creamer (HC), 6-4, 6-2

3. Unfinished Match: Kristin Mcdaniel (HC) and Shawnte Woodson (HU), 6-7, 5-0

4. Anne Ailstock (HU) def. Jaclyn Crossman (HC), 6-1, 6-1

5. Mariah Bryant (HU) def. Christian Vick (HC), 6-1, 6-2

6. Kati Bryant (HC) def. Trudy Siziba (HU), 6-2, 6-7, 11-9

 

Huntingdon (4-5, 2-0 GSAC) returns to the courts on Saturday, Apr. 2, at 10 a.m. Central against Great South Athletic opponent Salem College in Winston-Salem, N.C.
