Lady Hawks in Fourth Place at the Spring Reeder Cup



LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, Ga. --- The Lady Hawks finished in fourth place after the opening round of the 2011 Spring Reeder Cup hosted by Covenant College at the Lookout Mountain Golf Course on Monday. Despite windy conditions, Huntingdon College's sophomore Saem Hur is currently tied for third place only nine-strokes behind the individual leader.

Hur's day one 17-over par, 87, paced Huntingdon's women's golf team on Monday. Sophomore Ali Hamil finished the first round tied for ninth place after shooting a 23-over par, 93.

Junior Kaitlin Rozof's 29-over par, 99, landed her tied for 15th place while junior Alex Foster is tied for 18th after carding a 31-over, 101. Freshman Meg McGuire completed the Lady Hawks' scoring with a 107 tied for 23rd place on Monday.

Lee University (348) holds a 22-stroke advantage in first place over Bethel University (370). In third place, Young Harris Community College (378) trails Bethel by eight-strokes. Huntingdon (380) finished two-strokes behind Young Harris, while the William Carey University (432) rounded out the top-5 team scores in the first round of competition.

Lee's Geandra Almeida paced the field with an opening round low 8-over par, 78, on Monday.

The Lady Hawks look to climb up the leader board in the final round of the 2011 Spring Reeder Cup on Tuesday, Apr. 5, hosted by Covenant College at the Lookout Mountain Golf Course in Lookout Mountain, Georgia.
