Lady Hawks Finish Third and Hawks Place Sixth at the 2011 Spring Reeder Cup

LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, Ga. --- Huntingdon College's Saem Hur's fifth place finish was the school's best individual performer as the Lady Hawks came in third place. Huntingdon's men's golf team struggled in the final round falling into sixth place on Tuesday.

The Lady Hawks shot a tournament total 779 following a final round 399 on Tuesday. Lee University and Young Harris College were the only two teams in front of the Lady Hawks with totals of 702 and 769, respectively. Lee's Geandra Almeida claimed the individual crown after firing a final round 15-over par, 85, for a tournament low 163.

Hur landed in fifth place with a two-day total of 183 after carding a 96 in the final round. Ali Hamel finished tied for 12th place after recording a 102 on Tuesday giving her a tournament total of 195. Kaitlin Rozof trailed Hamil by two-strokes (197) with a 14th place finish following a final round 98.

Alex Foster and Meg McGuire rounded out the Lady Hawks' tournament scoring with totals of 204 and 216, respectively. Foster finished tied for 17th place while McGuire was tied for 24th on Tuesday.

On the men's side, Huntingdon finished the tournament with a 648 total after shooting a 334 final round score. The Hawks finished outside of the top-5 falling from fourth place to sixth on the final day.

Huntingdon's J.P. Kircher paced the team finishing tied for 12th place with a 159 total after shooting a nine-over par, 79. Chase Blaich's final round 16-over par, 86, gave him a tournament total of 162 tied for 20th.

Cates Culpepper trailed Blaich by three-strokes (165) in the tournament tied for 24th following a final round 12-over par, 82. Jamey Lester (168) and Griffin Just (172) rounded out the Hawks' scoring placing tied for 31st and 33rd place, respectively. Lester shot a final round 93 while Just carded an 87 on Tuesday.

LaGrange College claimed the top spot with a two-day total of 625, while the Panthers' Hudson Keener took home the individual title following a tournament low 146. Berry College (629) trailed LaGrange by four-strokes, while Rhodes College (636) finished in third place. The University of West Georgia (638) and Covenant College (647) completed the top-5 on the men's side.
