DECATUR, Ga. --- Huntingdon College's women's tennis team's
36-consecutive Great South Athletic Conference regular-season winning streak
ended Saturday afternoon against Agnes Scott College, 6-3. The Lady Hawks'
streak dated back to the 2007 regular-season before falling to the Scotties in
the final conference match of the season.
Huntingdon fell down 2-1 after doubles' competition with
freshman Hannah Creamer and junior Christian Vick winning the only doubles
match from the No. 3 spot.
The Scotties (10-2, 6-0 GSAC) picked up four of the six
singles' matches to remain undefeated in conference play. Senior Kristin
McDaniel and sophomore Kati Bryant were the only Lady Hawks able to defeat
Agnes Scott at the No. 3 and No. 6 singles' positions, respectively.
The Lady Hawks (10-8, 6-1 GSAC) will look to redeem their
only conference loss during the GSAC tournament beginning on Friday, Apr. 29,
in LaGrange, Georgia.
