MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Huntingdon women’s golfer Saem Hur had a
solid fall season.
The sophomore led Huntingdon in all three tournaments and
one head-to-head match. She saved her best for the final tournament of the
fall, shooting a 158 in the Birmingham-Southern College Southern Shootout on
Oct. 9-10.
Hur is this week’s ALFA Insurance® Student-Athlete of the Week.
“This is a very nice honor,” Hur said. “Winning this award
wasn’t something I was expecting.”
Hur said she was not completely satisfied with her
performance this fall. She finished 23rd
in the Piedmont Fall Invitational in early September and tied for 13th
in the Chick-fil-A Collegiate Invitational in early October. In the second
outing of the fall, Hur tied for the best round in a match against
Birmingham-Southern at Lagoon Park.
Hur said she saw improvement from herself and her teammates and
she wants to continue to improve going into the spring season.
“I’m not someone that is easily satisfied with what I do,
but this was a better fall season than last year,” Hur said. “It’s a
progression and we’re getting better. I want to keep progressing and I’m
looking forward to the spring season.”
ALFA is
pleased to recognize Hur and all Huntingdon student-athletes for their hard
work and accomplishments throughout the 2011-2012 season.
