Freshman Admission Requirements

 Big Red Weekend

Huntingdon College observes a competitive admission process that includes reviewing and evaluating each application on an individual basis for an applicant's abilities as a student and a scholar. Decisions about your potential for academic success are based on your performance on the ACT and/or SAT, your high school grade point average, and your high school course schedule. In general, to be eligible for regular admission, an incoming freshman must have achieved a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.5 in high school and an ACT score (or SAT equivalent) of 20 on the composite score. The files of candidates for admission who do not meet these minimum thresholds will be reviewed for admission by the Committee on Institutional Effectiveness.

The recommended high school curriculum should include 15 units distributed as follows:

  • 4 units of English
  • 3 units of mathematics (including two units above Algebra I)
  • 2 units of science
  • 2 units of social studies or history
  • 2 units of foreign language
  • 2 units of humanities
