Academics
The Huntingdon College SBPS program awards a Bachelor of Science in
Business Management. To qualify for graduation, a student is required to
have a minimum of 120 credit hours, which include:
- Core Courses: Subjects include basic sciences, English composition,
humanities, mathematics, social sciences, and religion. Some credit for these courses can be
obtained through CLEP testing (see www.collegeboard.com to acquire more information
regarding the subject tests only)
- Liberal Arts Electives: The courses within this requirement include courses in
humanities, science, or social science.
- Major Courses: The courses within this requirement include courses in business
administration, economics, and accounting.
- General Education Electives: Hours may vary based upon transfer credit received
and remaining course requirements. These are courses of your choice to broaden your knowledge
and skills.
Note: At least 30 credit hours must be completed through the SBPS program in order to
obtain a degree.
Classes are delivered in five weeks through an accelerated course format requiring
student preparation and work outside of the formal course structure. In many courses, students
will have both a reading and writing assignment due the first night that a class meets. Our
classroom-based courses are held one evening a week for a four hour period starting at 5:30 p.m.
Class size is kept small, ranging from twelve to twenty, so that the students can interact
easily and receive personalized attention.
Futher information regarding graduation requirements is available in the
SBPS catalog (PDF).
