Financial Aid & Student Accounts

2007–08 Tuition and Fees

All charges are assessed on the first day of each semester based upon preregistration. Adjustments will be made at the time of any enrollment change and any applicable fees assessed.

Tuition and fees are payable prior to the first day of classes. Payments should be sent directly to the Student Account Manager at the following address: Huntingdon College, 1500 Fairview Avenue, Montgomery, AL 36106. The receipt of a financial aid award does not alter the responsibility for payment of tuition and fees. Financial aid grants will not be considered as payment unless all requirements have been met, an award letter has been issued, and a student has registered for a term. Financial aid loans will not be considered as payment until the loan has been guaranteed. Students are not permitted to register for upcoming semesters until their financial affairs are satisfactorily arranged.

Tuition per credit hour: $215.00

Fees:

  • Late add fee: $100.00
  • Drop fee: $25.00
  • Administrative drop fee: $50.00
  • Withdrawal fee: $25.00

To receive consideration for financial aid, a student must be:

  1. a U.S. citizen;
  2. accepted as a degree candidate in the SBPS program; and
  3. enrolled in at least 6 hours during any single semester.

What Am I Eligible to Receive?

The following may be used as a guideline to determine what financial aid you may be eligible for. Your exact eligibility will depend on the number of courses you enroll in and your EFC from the FAFSA. Once the financial aid office receives your enrollment and has a valid Student Aid Report from the FAFSA, your award package will be mailed to you.

Financial Aid Checklist

  1. Apply for admission to SBPS. You may apply online (online form) or call (334) 833-4518 or 1-888-462-5067 to receive information.
  2. Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online in order to speed up the award process. In addition, go to www.pin.ed.gov to request a PIN so that you can electronically sign your FAFSA. The Huntingdon College code is 001019 and must be put on the FAFSA.
  3. If you complete the online FAFSA form, you and the financial aid office will receive a Student Aid Report (SAR) from the federal government within 3-5 business days from the date of submission. The SAR will explain potential eligibility for federal loan and grant programs.
  4. Once enrollment and appropriate SAR information is received in the financial aid office, your financial aid package will be prepared and mailed to you.
  5. Students may also be eligible for the Alabama Student Grant Program. Applications are available from the Huntingdon College financial aid office, through your site coordinator, or in the forms section below. Enrollment in a minimum of 6 hours is required. State deadlines apply to this grant.

Note: The federal government sometimes asks for verification of FAFSA information. When this is done, the financial aid award is delayed until all supporting documentation (signed copies of federal tax returns, etc.) is provided to and reviewed by the financial aid office.

Please understand that the receipt of a financial aid award does not alter your responsibility for payment of tuition and fees. All related program costs are due prior to attending the first class. Financial aid grants will not be considered as payment unless an award letter has been issued by Huntingdon College. Financial aid loans (Federal Stafford and PLUS) will not be considered as payment until the award letter has been returned to the financial aid office, the loan has been guaranteed by the Kentucky Higher Education Assistance Authority through the signing of the Master Promissory Note, and Federal Stafford Entrance Counseling has been completed at the KHEAA website.

Finally, determine if your employer will provide financial assistance (tuition reimbursement) for tuition, fees, and books (this information is usually available from your employer's Human Resources Office). Please let our offices know if we can be of assistance with this process.

If you presently attend and receive financial aid from another institution and you desire to transfer to Huntingdon College, you must call the Federal Aid Information Center at 1-800-433-3243 and request that an SAR (Student Aid Report) be sent to Huntingdon College (code number 001019). You will need your DRN number to complete the process over the phone. It can be found at the top of the SAR that was sent to you by the Federal Government upon completion of the FAFSA. If you do not have your DRN number and cannot access it, you will need your 4 digit PIN to log into your account at www.fafsa.ed.gov. You may then make a correction, add Huntingdon College in the school information section, and resubmit. Please be sure that you notify the financial aid office at your previous school that you do not plan to attend in the upcoming semester. This will enable them to cancel your aid at their school so that you may receive it at Huntingdon. If your previous school draws down loan or grant funds for you, even though you have left, it may delay your receipt of aid at Huntingdon.

For questions about financial aid, contact us by calling (334) 833-4518 or (888) 462-5067, or e-mail sbps@huntingdon.edu.

Book Voucher Procedures

The first step is to ensure that you qualify to receive a Book Voucher. Only those students who have guaranteed financial aid in excess of the semester charges are eligible to charge their books to their student account. Students must complete all required paperwork in order to have guaranteed financial aid. This includes:

  • completing a FAFSA and any necessary verification paperwork;
  • gaining acceptance to the program and registering for classes;
  • signing and returning the award letter accepting or rejecting all or part of the financial aid package;
  • completing the Federal Stafford Loan Entrance Counseling required by the Federal Government; and
  • completing the Federal Stafford Loan Master Promissory Note.

Once these steps have been completed you may follow the directions below to receive your Book Voucher. Note: This process will need to be completed each session. Also, please allow three to five business days for processing.

  1. Send a request using your Huntingdon College email account to the financial aid office at bduett@huntingdon.edu for the amount of the book voucher required for the upcoming session. If your request does not indicate the total amount you need, we will be unable to process your request.
  2. The financial aid office will verify that you do, in fact, qualify for a book voucher and email you the appropriate form as a Word document. The body of the email will read:

    “Attached you will find your book voucher. Please open and print the Word document. Please read the voucher in its entirety, sign, date and fax to (334) 833-4235. Upon receipt, you will be notified via email from studentaccounts@huntingdon.edu that you may call the bookstore at (334) 833-4482 and place your order. To receive your textbook via mail, you must specify this in your order to the bookstore. A small fee is associated with this service and will be taken out of your book voucher. You may inquire as to the amount of the fee when placing your order with the bookstore. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.”
  3. The entire value of the book voucher will be charged to the student’s account. Any unused funds will be credited back.

For questions regarding this procedure, contact the Office of Student Financial Services by calling (334) 833-4519 or (800) 763-0313, or e-mail bduett@huntingdon.edu.
