Campus Ministries Mission and Vision

Campus MinistriesMission

The mission of Huntingdon College Campus Ministries is to extend the historic mission of the United Methodist Church of uniting knowledge and vital piety by providing a spiritual, intellectual and material ministry to all persons within the academic community.  Huntingdon College Campus Ministries witnesses to the mission, message, and life of Jesus Christ, to the end that:  (1) members of the College community participate in the greater realization of a fully humane society committed to freedom and truth, love, justice, peace, and personal integrity and (2)  the Christian faith of students, faculty and staff is deepened, enriched and matured.

Vision

The vision of Huntingdon College Campus Ministries is to develop Christian leaders for the transformation of the world, in and through the Church.

Values

Authentic Worship

We believe in authentic worship that encourages individuals to engage God with transparency and vulnerability. (Psalm 29:2, John 4:21-24)

Critical Discipleship

We believe that each person should engage his or her faith critically. We believe in asking probing questions and actively seeking after God’s revelation. (Amos 5:4-7, Matthew 7:7-9)

Real Relationships

We believe that God calls us to be in Christian community, and as such we should support one another with our prayers, presence, gifts, service, and witness. (Romans 12:15-18, 1 Corinthians 12:12-27)

Selfless Mission

We believe that Christ calls us to lay down our selfish ambitions, to follow God, and to put others before ourselves. (Mark 9:35-37, Luke 14:25-33)
