College prepares for Graduation Weekend 2016

Huntingdon College students will enjoy the last day of classes for spring term 2016, Friday, April 29, as the campus prepares for Graduation Weekend, May 13–14.

Barefoot to speak for Huntingdon Commencement

Huntingdon College will welcome Dr. Betsy O. Barefoot, senior scholar of the John N. Gardner Institute for Excellence in Undergraduate Education, to offer the address during 2016 Commencement Exercises for traditional day program students, Saturday, May 14, at 9:00 a.m. on the College Green.

Huntingdon bands conduct annual Concert on the Green

Huntingdon College’s Huntingdon Winds Concert Band and Huntingdon Jazz band will offer their annual Concert on the Green, Thursday, April 28, at 6:30 p.m. at Top Stage on the College’s Green. Huntingdon’s Green is a park-like space at the center of campus.

Scholarship, service honored at 2016 Awards Convocation

Academic and student life programs at Huntingdon College presented awards for scholarship and service during the annual Awards Convocation held Friday, April 22.

Music Program presents Honors Recital

The Huntingdon College Music Program will present its annual Honors Recital Sunday, April 24, at 3:00 p.m. in the College’s Ligon Chapel, Flowers Hall. Performing musicians are juniors or seniors selected by the Music Program’s faculty as exemplary musicians.

Huntingdon presents annual CloverJam Music-Fest

Huntingdon College will present its annual CloverJam music-fest Friday, April 22, on the College Green at Top Stage. Music will begin at 5:00 p.m. with student bands. Featured bands are Norris Dates & Power Surge at 8:00 p.m. and The Park Band at 10:45 p.m. Food and beverage vendors will be present.

Huntingdon choirs present spring concert

The Huntingdon College Concert Choir and Huntingdon Harmony jazz/show choir will present their spring concert, Tuesday, April 19, at 7:00 p.m. in Ligon Chapel, Flowers Hall. The concert will feature works or arrangements by Morten Lauridsen, Randall Stroope, Jay Althouse, Eric Whitacre, and Rosephanye Powell, among others.

Writer Katherine Clark speaks at Huntingdon College

Noted author Katherine Clark will speak for the Huntingdon College Jimmy Loeb Literary Series and Rhoda Coleman Ellison Lecture Series, Wednesday, April 20, at 7:30 p.m. in Smith Music Building’s Delchamps Recital Hall on the Huntingdon campus. The lecture, which will include readings from her two latest novels, The Headmaster’s Darlings and All the Governor’s Men, is free and open to the public.
