State, Regional and National Accreditation and Memberships

Huntingdon College is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to award baccalaureate and master’s degrees. Huntingdon’s Educator Preparation programs are accredited by the Alabama State Department of Education. The Music program is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music (NASM). The Biochemistry program is accredited by the American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (ASBMB).

Huntingdon College also holds membership in the National Association of Schools and Colleges of the United Methodist Church, the National Association of Independent Colleges and Universities, the Council of Independent Colleges Tuition ExchangeThe Tuition Exchange Incorporated, the Marine Environmental Sciences Consortium, the Montgomery Higher Education Consortium, and has membership in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), Division III.

Huntingdon is also on the approved lists of the University Senate of the United Methodist Church, the American Association of University Women and the Alabama State Department of Education.

Huntingdon’s athletic conference is USA South.

Consortia Study

Huntingdon students may participate in the Marine Environmental Sciences Consortium located on Dauphin Island, Alabama. Specific courses available are listed under the marine science disciplinary courses in the Huntingdon College Catalog. A minor in marine science is available through this program.
