  • With the exception of the Montgomery Public Schools Investment Scholarship, institutional awards listed below cannot be stacked or combined.
  • Institutional scholarships and awards are renewable for up to a minimum of three additional years, as long as award criteria are met.
  • Federal, state, outside United Methodist scholarships and awards, and Veteran’s Administration Educational Assistance programs may be awarded in addition to institutional aid based on program qualifications.
  • To be considered for a Huntingdon institutional scholarship or award, a student must be admitted to the traditional undergraduate program and must enroll as a full-time student.
  • ACT/SAT composite scores are not necessary for admission but are necessary to be considered for Honors Scholarships and Presidential Fellowships and may be helpful for Merit Scholarship consideration.

MERIT SCHOLARSHIPS

  • Open to incoming freshmen and transfer students with 36 credit hours or less of transfer credit.
  • Campus residency required.
  • Participation in the Presidential Scholars program, including an Academic Team, required.
  • Participation in Hobbs Honors Program required.
  • Because of the time commitment for this program, Presidential Fellowships are reserved for those who are not participating in NCAA-III athletic teams, the Kingswood Initiative, Esports, band, dance, or cheer teams.
  • Additional application and interview required. Submit the Presidential Scholars Application.
James W. Wilson Jr. Scholarship$16,500
  • 3.75 GPA and 25 ACT
  • Freshman only
President A.A. Lipscomb Scholarship$14,000
  • 24 ACT/3.50 GPA or 3.70 GPA without test scores
  • Freshmen only
President Walter D. Agnew Scholarship$13,500
  • 23 ACT/3.40 GPA or 3.60 GPA without test scores

Wynton M. and Carolyn Blount Scholarship$13,000

  • Limited—must participate in the Kingswood Initiative.
  • Kingswood Certificates are available to incoming freshmen only.

  • Because of the time commitment for the Kingswood Initiative, participation is reserved for those who are not participating in NCAA-III athletic teams, the Presidential Scholars Program, Esports, band, dance, or cheer teams.
Esports Award$14,000
  • Must participate in Esports.
  • Because of the time commitment for this program, participation in Esports is reserved for those who are not participating in NCAA-III athletic teams, the Kingswood Initiative, Presidential Scholars Program, band, dance, or cheer teams.
Scarlet & Grey Band Award$14,000
  • Must participate in marching band, jazz/show band, BallHawks Pep Band, and symphonic band for fall and spring semesters as requested.
  • Because of the time commitment for the band program, participation is reserved for those who are not participating in NCAA-III athletic teams, the Presidential Scholars Program, the Kingswood Initiative, Esports, dance, or cheer teams.
Scarlet & Grey Choir Award$14,000
  • Must participate in choir.
  • Although choir participation is open to any student, this award is reserved for those who are not receiving awards for participation in the Kingswood Initiative, Presidential Scholars Program, NCAA-III athletic teams, Esports, band, or dance teams.
Scarlet & Grey Cheer Award$14,000
  • Limited—must participate in cheer activities as requested.
  • Try-out required.
  • Because of the time commitment for the Cheer program, participation is reserved for those who are not participating in NCAA-III athletic teams, the Presidential Scholars Program, the Kingswood Initiative, Esports, band, or dance teams.
Scarlet & Grey Dance Award$14,000
  • Limited—must participate in dance activities as requested.
  • Try-out required.
  • Because of the time commitment for the dance program, participation is reserved for those who are not participating in NCAA-III athletic teams, the Presidential Scholars Program, the Kingswood Initiative, Esports, band, or cheer teams.
Huntingdon Military Science Scholarship$12,500
  • Must participate in Air Force ROTC.

  • Must live within 45 miles of the Huntingdon campus.

Huntingdon Grant$9,000
  • Must meet admission requirements.
Montgomery Public Schools Investment Scholarship$3,000 in addition to one other Huntingdon scholarship or award, except for Honors Scholarships or Presidential Scholars.
  • Incoming freshmen who graduate from Booker T. Washington Magnet, Brewbaker Technology Magnet, Carver, Jefferson Davis, Lanier, Loveless Academic Magnet (LAMP), Montgomery Preparatory Academy for Career Technologies, Park Crossing, or Robert E. Lee High Schools.
