Bestselling Author to Deliver Commencement Address

Bestselling biographer Ronald C. White will deliver the Commencement Address for Huntingdon College Class of 2018 traditional day program graduates, Saturday, May 5, at 9:00 a.m. on the College’s Green. White will speak under the auspices of the Stallworth Lectureship in the Liberal Arts. His topic will be,  “An Inadmissible Question.”

Winds and Jazz, Symphonic Honor Bands Perform

The Huntingdon College concert band, Huntingdon Winds, and jazz band, Huntingdon Jazz, will present a free outdoor concert Friday, April 13, 6:00–7:00 p.m. on Top Stage on The Green at the center of campus. The public is invited to bring outdoor chairs, blankets, picnics, and even Frisbees. There is no charge for admission. The concert will be offered in the midst of the bands hosting their annual Symphonic Honor Band. High school musicians from nearly every corner of Alabama are scheduled to attend.

Alumna Inducted into Newspaper Hall of Honor

Beloved Huntingdon alumna Kathryn Tucker Windham, Class of 1939, was inducted into the Alabama Newspaper Hall of Honor during ceremonies at Auburn University, Saturday, April 7, 2018. Her journalistic career spanned more than seven decades.

Huntingdon Dedicates New Soccer/Softball Complex

Although soccer and softball have been part of Huntingdon College’s athletic teams for nearly 30 years, the teams have not enjoyed separate spaces on campus. Now, with the dedication of the W. James Samford Jr. Soccer and Softball Complex, each sport has its own field for practice and play, as well as new lockers, restrooms, and an indoor press box. The fields, made possible by a gift from the W. James Samford Jr. Foundation, were dedicated March 24.

Fifteen Huntingdon College women competed for the title of Miss Huntingdon, Saturday, March 17. At the pageant’s conclusion, six prizes were awarded.
