Aaron Locklear joined the Huntingdon band program in 2019. His marching experience includes performing with the Spirit of Atlanta Drum and Bugle Corps, as well as teaching the front ensemble at The Cadets Drum and Bugle Corps. He has performed with professional orchestras such as the Syracuse Symphoria, Alabama Symphony, and Montgomery Symphony. In 2015 he was awarded 1st prize in the undergraduate division of the Great Plains International Marimba Competition in Oklahoma City, OK. Throughout his career he has premiered and recorded works by Kevin Puts, Jeff Tyzik, Michael Burritt, John Psathas, and Matt Curlee, in addition to performing as soloist in the world premiere of the 2nd movement from Alejandro Viñao’s Estudios de Frontera. His primary teachers include Michael Burritt, Chip Ross, Jim Ross, Doug Rosener, and Jeff Grant.
Aaron and his wife, Brenna, live in Auburn, where they enjoy searching for the best food in town, spending time with family, and serving together at church.
