Huntingdon Bookstore Celebrates Grand Opening
Montgomery, Ala.—The Huntingdon College Scarlet and Grey Shop, the newest addition to the Huntingdon College campus and to the Cloverdale Business District, will celebrate its grand opening Wednesday, October 2, at 12:30 p.m. at 1140 E. Fairview Avenue. The public is invited to join in the celebration.
The Scarlet and Grey Shop is located in the Phyllis and Gene Stanaland House at Huntingdon College, dedicated September 7 in honor of the 1960 alumnus and long-time trustee and his wife. The naming occurred after the former Capitol Book and News building was acquired by the College several years ago and completely remodeled, including a wrap-around porch and drive-through window. The bookstore carries Huntingdon College apparel and merchandise, school supplies, and books, and serves Starbucks coffee. Hours of operation are 6:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. weekdays with special hours during the College’s home football games at W. James Samford Jr. Stadium, just across the street from the bookstore.
Huntingdon College embraces students’ development and growth in faith, wisdom, and service, providing a solid foundation that enables graduates to respond to the needs of today’s complex world.
