Huntingdon Christmas Tradition Continues
Montgomery, Ala.—Huntingdon College invites the public to attend the College’s traditional Christmas Celebration and A Service of Lessons and Carols, Thursday, November 30. Festivities will begin with the arrival of St. Nicholas at 6:30 p.m., led by the Huntingdon Marching Scarlet and Grey, at the front entrance of campus. St. Nicholas will proceed to the Library Atrium, where he will be available to visit with children. Outside, the crowd will sing carols led by the band, and a special guest will light the trees outside Flowers Hall. Following the tree-lighting, all are invited to attend the beautiful tradition, A Service of Lessons and Carols, beginning at 7:00 p.m. in Ligon Chapel, Flowers Hall. The service features performances by the Huntingdon Concert Choir and the Huntingdon Chamber Ensemble, interspersed with biblical readings and ornamentation of the Chapel tree by members of student organizations.
Events are as follows:
- 6:30 p.m., Arrival of St. Nicholas and Christmas parade, campus front entrance
- 6:45 p.m., Caroling and Tree Lighting, Flowers Hall front entrance
- 7:00 p.m., A Service of Lessons and Carols, Ligon Chapel, Flowers Hall
The above events are free and open to the public as part of Huntingdon’s Cultural and Community Events Series, sponsored by Baptist Health.
