Huntingdon College Offers Virtual Tours
Montgomery, Ala.—Virtually anyone can visit the Huntingdon College campus these days, but not in person. Instead, the Huntingdon Office of Admission offers virtual visits and tours for prospective students and families through online conferencing via Zoom.
There are three hallmarks of the Huntingdon experience that have to be felt rather than read about, says Leanne Mallory Carroll, vice president for enrollment management. “Although we can’t completely replace the feeling of being here, virtual visits and tours help us give prospective families a glimpse of the warmth and welcome for which Huntingdon is known; the care and concern we offer students; and the feel of our beautiful, home-away-from-home campus.”
To begin the visit, the prospective student and family join a Zoom meeting. “The admission counselor can answer questions in real time,” says Carroll. If the student and family choose a tour, the admission counselor will tour the campus, allowing the student and family “to see all of campus, just as they would during an in-person tour.”
Visits may be scheduled any weekday at the student and family’s convenience, while tours are available Monday through Thursday at 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. To schedule a visit or tour, the student may use the visit form on the College website at www.huntingdon.edu/visit or may contact the Office of Admission at (334) 833-4496 or admiss@hawks.huntingdon.edu. There is no cost to the prospective student.
“In some ways, a virtual visit is even more relaxed than an in-person visit,” says Carroll. “Above all, we want students to feel at home and to have all of their questions answered.”
Huntingdon College is a private liberal arts college of the United Methodist Church offering more than 30 undergraduate majors and professional track programs.
