Huntingdon Leadership Academy Planned for June 28–30
Montgomery, Ala.— Registration has opened for Huntingdon College’s 2021 Huntingdon Leadership Academy, a summer experience for high school students who feel called to ministry vocations, to be held June 28–30, 2021. This year’s program will be conducted online and is open to high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors.
“We are pleased to offer the program for a sixth consecutive year,” said Dr. Anthony Leigh, senior vice president for student and institutional development. “This year’s HLA will be a dynamic three-day and two-night online experience.” During HLA, participants engage in learning and discussion about current topics in the life of the church, as well as experiencing mentoring, fun, praise, and worship. The cost for participation is $25. Unlike past years, students may register directly this year rather than having to be nominated by their pastors.
“HLA transforms lives,” said Huntingdon chaplain Rhett Butler, who has worked with the program for three years. “Many participants have told me that the experience grounded them in faith and/or solidified their call to ministry vocations.” He added, “The leadership skills and faith commitment reinforced through this experience are applicable to students from any Christian denomination.”
Students may register for HLA 2021 at https://www.huntingdon.edu/campus-life/campus-ministries/hla/. For more information, see the website or email hla@hawks.huntingdon.edu.
Huntingdon College continues a legacy of faith, wisdom, and service through a liberal arts academic tradition grounded in the Judeo-Christian heritage of the United Methodist Church.
