Huntingdon Named to College Consensus Top 5 in Alabama

Montgomery, Ala.—Huntingdon College has been named among the best colleges and universities in Alabama by College Consensus, a new college aggregator. The ranking shows that Huntingdon achieved the highest student consensus of any college in the state and ranks overall in the top five colleges and universities. The notification letter states, “The best colleges in Alabama know what their people need while reaching out beyond their immediate community and state. From major public research universities to small regional colleges, liberal arts colleges, and more, College Consensus honors the best colleges in Alabama for their commitment to excellence. Consensus rankings are based on a comprehensive aggregate of published rankings and verified student reviews. The College Consensus method allows every institution, from the richest and best-known university to the smallest and hardest-working regional college, to demonstrate what they do best.” Rankings were released today.

“What is most important to me about this ranking,” said Huntingdon College president J. Cameron West, “is that students are independently reporting their satisfaction with the Huntingdon College experience. We work hard to make sure students know they are valued members of this learning community. In fact, our faculty and staff follow the credo, ‘the success of every student is the focus of everything we do.'”

Huntingdon’s fall semester opened Monday, August 20.

Through the Huntingdon Plan, Huntingdon full-time day students are provided books and information resources, a laptop computer, a senior year travel-study opportunity, and active learning opportunities in their majors—all within regular tuition and fees. Huntingdon College is an institution with a rich liberal arts tradition that is grounded in the Judeo-Christian heritage of the United Methodist Church. The College embraces the development and growth of its students in faith, wisdom, and service, providing a solid foundation that will enable them to respond to the needs of today’s complex world.
