MAT Program Application Deadline Approaches
Montgomery, Ala.—The Huntingdon College Master of Athletic Training Program is accepting applications for its second cohort of students, to begin classes in May 2022. The six-semester program began with its first cohort of students in May 2021.
Closely associated with physical therapists, athletic trainers work with athletic teams, athletes, athletic events, and/or in athletic facilities to assess injuries, administer treatments for those injuries, and provide medical care.
The Huntingdon MAT program is a rigorous program that prepares students to sit for the licensure exam to become Certified Athletic Trainers (ATCs). Clinical experience and other hands-on learning are part of each course in the program.
Last year, Huntingdon was approved by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges to offer graduate-level degrees. The College is seeking specialized accreditation for the MAT program through the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE). A formal review and decision will take place in spring 2023.
The application deadline is March 15. To learn more, visit www.huntingdon.edu/mat.
