The Percussion Studio

The Percussion Studio at Huntingdon College is made up of students from across campus who are both music and non-music majors. Percussionists receive band scholarships to attend the College and perform in the drumline with the Huntingdon Marching Scarlet and Grey, the Percussion Ensemble, the wind ensemble, and jazz band throughout their degree program.

The Drumline and Percussion Ensemble (concert) are primary emphases for all percussionists who are awarded band scholarships. Drumline and Percussion Ensemble require rehearsals, sectionals, and regular performances throughout the school year. The Percussion Ensemble rehearses 3-4 times per week in preparation for the end of the semester concert in the fall and spring. They are a hit with the crowd!

The Huntingdon College percussion program takes a comprehensive approach to developing a well-rounded percussionist. Throughout the four-year degree plan, percussionists who are majoring in music will receive weekly one-on-one, one-hour lessons with Mr. Mooney. The four-year degree plan includes study in marimba, snare drum, timpani, accessories, world percussion and drum set.
