Winds, Jazz, and Symphonic Honor Bands Perform

Montgomery, Ala. —The Huntingdon College concert band, Huntingdon Winds, and jazz band, Huntingdon Jazz, will present a free outdoor concert Friday, April 13, 6:00–7:00 p.m. on Top Stage on The Green at the center of campus. The public is invited to bring outdoor chairs, blankets, picnics, and even Frisbees. There is no charge for admission.

The concert will be offered in the midst of the bands hosting their annual Symphonic Honor Band. High school musicians from nearly every corner of Alabama are scheduled to attend. The Symphonic Honor Band will practice Friday, April 13, and perform a brief concert Saturday, April 14, at 11:30 a.m. in Roland Arena, inside Catherine Dixon Roland Student Center.

The Huntingdon College band program is directed by Eddy Williams, with Adam Murphy as assistant director.

Huntingdon College, grounded in the Judeo-Christian tradition of the United Methodist Church, is committed to nurturing growth in faith, wisdom, and service and to graduating individuals prepared to succeed in a rapidly changing world. Founded in 1854, Huntingdon is a coeducational liberal arts college. The Music program offers majors in Music and P–12 Music Education (Choral or Instrumental), with more than five instrumental ensembles and two choral ensembles in which students of any major may participate.
