Huntingdon President Announces Staff Changes

Montgomery, Ala.—Huntingdon College President J. Cameron West announced this week that Meggie Bridges, Huntingdon Class of 2011, will assume the role of director, Office of the President, and corporation secretary to the Huntingdon College board of trustees beginning January 1, 2023.

Ms. Bridges has served as director of the Office of Academic Affairs since fall 2021. After graduating from Huntingdon she served in the Office of the Registrar as academic representative and later as assistant registrar.

President West also announced the appointment of Elizabeth Rogers to the position of director, Office of Academic Affairs, effective January 1, 2023. Ms. Rogers has served the College since 2015 as an instructor of communication studies. In 2019 she joined the Staton Center for Learning Enrichment as a learning support specialist and coach of the Presidential Fellows Academic Mentoring Team. She was named associate director of learning support services in 2021 and continues to teach in the Communication Studies Program.

“Meggie Bridges and Elizabeth Rogers have demonstrated an extraordinary level of energy and commitment to the College’s students, faculty, and staff in their various responsibilities at the institution,” said President West. “They know the College well and embody its values and motto—”Enter to Grow in Wisdom; Go Forth to Apply Wisdom in Service.”

The appointments were made following President West’s announcement last week that Sandy Kelser, who has served as executive assistant to the president and corporation secretary for 25 years at Huntingdon, will retire effective January 1, 2023.

Huntingdon College is a coeducational residential liberal arts college of the United Methodist Church offering more than thirty undergraduate programs of study, 21 NCAA-Division III athletic teams, and coed ESports, new for fall 2023. The College also offers the Master of Athletic Training.
