Graduate School Graduations
- Sydney Conville Crawford ’22 completed her doctorate of physical therapy at Faulkner University in April 2025.
Retirements/Promotions/Honors/General News
- Conner Bradford ’24 has accepted a new position teaching Elementary Math and Science and service as an assistant football coach at McKenzie School in McKenzie, Alabama.
- Dexter Dean ’13 received the Exceptional Staff Award from the College of Sciences at Georgia Tech.
- Matt Gilson ’17 has been named the head boys and girls wrestling coach at Daphne High School.
- Jacob Holston ’23 published his first author publication in the Advances in Infectious Diseases The article, “Demographic and Comorbidity Associations in Chronic Spontaneous Urticaria: A Retrospective Analysis”. The paper is co-authored by Huntingdon faculty, Dr. Doba Jackson, and alumni, Parker High ’23. Jacob presented the research at the Medical Association of the State of Alabama annual session in April and won first place in poster presentations.
- Allison Johnson ’17 was accepted to USA’s Pediatric NP program in March 2025.
- Elizabeth Glavan Munoz ’05 was featured as the guest speaker on the Plus Mommy podcast episode 227 in April 2025. She was interviewed for her expertise on body size bias and increasing access to midwifery care for patients in larger bodies.
- Taylor Zarzour ’00 was named in April as the Lead Broadcaster, play-by-play man, for the Tennessee Titans.
In Memoriam
- Zan Henslee Gammage ’50 passed away on April 19, 2025, in Cedartown, Georgia.
- Kathryn Hawes ’59 passed away on April 2, 2025, in Normandy Park, Washington.
- Adam Marx Pavlicek ’01 passed away on April 29, 2028, in Columbia, South Carolina.
- Thomas James Prescott passed away on April 29, 2025, in Columbus, Georgia. Mr. Prescott previously served on the Huntingdon College Board of Trustees and was the father of alumna Riley Prescott Gilbert ’10. We extend our condolences to her.
- Virginia Lawrence Reid ’63 passed away on April 8, 2025, in Asheville, North Carolina. She was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Elsie Lawrence Beall ’51.
- William G. Smelser, Jr. ’65 passed away on March 31, 2025, in Loganville, Georgia. We extend our condolences to his wife, Thelma Ann Steward Smelser ’64.
