“I am excited to welcome Dr. Brian Miller to this new role at Huntingdon,” stated President West.  “He is a tremendous advocate for Huntingdon, and he has served faithfully as a trustee and in the classroom.  He is well-equipped to tell the Huntingdon story to external constituencies and to maintain Huntingdon’s deep-rooted connection to Methodist churches across Alabama and Florida.”

Dr. Miller is an ordained Elder in the Alabama-West Florida Conference of the United Methodist Church and currently serves as Chair of the Order of Elders. For over twenty years, Dr. Miller has served as a pastor in congregations across the footprint of the Alabama-West Florida Conference .  From 2014 to 2023, Dr. Miller was the Senior Minister of Aldersgate UMC in Montgomery.  He previously held pastoral appointments at St. Mark UMC in Mobile, Dauphin Way UMC in Mobile, St. Mark UMC in Montgomery, and First UMC in Wetumpka.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in mass communications from Auburn University, and a master of divinity degree and a doctor of ministry in biblical leadership and preaching from Asbury Theological Seminary. He and his wife of 27 years, Christina, have four children, Brasher, Phoebe, William and Wesley.

“I’m honored to be a part of the Huntingdon College family,” Dr. Miller noted. “As I’ve been connected with the College over the years, I’ve grown more and more appreciative of the College’s place in the higher education ecosystem. My sense of personal purpose is helping individuals and communities have better outcomes. That’s what Huntingdon College does.”
