Greek Organizations Participate in National Events During the Summer
Montgomery, AL – Over the summer, several of Huntingdon’s Greek organizations participated in their headquarters’ hosted events to advance leadership and membership education. The knowledge gained will not only serve their chapters for the Huntingdon Greek community overall.
Alpha Omicron Pi
AOII Property Manager Ginny Jeter ’28 from Red Level, Alabama, traveled to Athens, Georgia to the Alpha Omicron Pi home at the University of Georgia for a regional gathering of “Camp AOII.” This event was a leadership opportunity to build skills, confidence, and community in first and second year AOII members. Overall, the Chapter was recognized in the national awards for an outstanding Alumni Advisory Council.
Chi Omega
Chi Omega Personnel Chair Jordan Epstein ’28 from Evans, Georgia and her advisor, Lauren Grace Wilson ’24, traveled to Phoenix, Arizona for the Chi Omega national convention. They participated in business sessions and training sessions geared to celebrate the spirit of Chi Omega and connect sisters across the nation.
Lambda Chi Alpha
President Aidan Cox ’27 from Arab, Alabama, attended the Lambda Chi Alpha National Assembly in Kansas City, Missouri. He participated in trainings and educations while also being on hand to receive the Huntingdon chapter’s recognition as a top 3 chapter for operations.
Phi Mu
Preslie Knox ’27 from Prattville, Alabama and Recruitment Data Chairwoman Carmen Vergara ’29 from Millbrook, Alabama, attended the sorority’s biennial national convention in Atlanta, Georgia. The ladies participated in national events and workshops to gain a deeper understanding of the organization and develop skills in leadership, communication, and community engagement. They were also recognized for meeting their donation goal to the Phi Mu Foundation.
Sigma Phi Epsilon
Vice President of Finance Sage Speer ’28 from Chelsea, Alabama attended the Sigma Phi Epsilon Ruck Leadership Institute in Richmond, Virginia, the birthplace of the fraternity in 1901. He had the opportunity to meet other members across the country to develop connections while learning more about the organization and opportunities for chapters and individuals.
