Huntingdon Choir Prepares Fall Concert

Montgomery, Ala. – The Huntingdon College Concert Choir will present their fall choral concert on Monday, November 6, 2023 at 7 p.m. in historic Ligon Chapel. The program is titled “It Takes a Village” and will feature a variety of music genres and singing traditions from Balkan Europe, South Africa, and the United States (shape note, gospel, and contemporary a capella).

The concert will also feature choral compositions by composers such as Felix Mendelssohn and Joan Szymko. The Concert Choir is comprised of 24 student singers. The choir is conducted by Dr. Scott Sexton, with Mrs. Laryne Monte serving as the collaborative pianist. The choir will also be joined by faculty guest musicians Dr. William Hayter (clarinet) and Mr. Brandon Mooney (percussion). Admission is free and open to the public.
