Huntingdon Opens New Outdoor Aquatic Center

Montgomery, AL – Thursday evening, August 13, President Anthony Leigh, the Student Government Association officers, pool staff, and campus leaders met on the pool deck of the Huntingdon College Outdoor Aquatic Center for an official ribbon cutting ceremony of the new facility.  After the ribbon cutting, President Leigh and the SGA leadership took the inaugural plunge into the pool. The event was followed by the Student Development Office welcome back week pool party where the student body joined in on the grand opening of the center.

“A Huntingdon education is more than a great pre-professional academic experience offered in iconic spaces like Flowers Hall and Bellingrath Hall,” stated President Leigh. “It is also a social experience, and our students value spaces on campus that enable them to have outlets for their social and recreational life.  The opening of the Huntingdon College Outdoor Aquatic Center is a tremendous advancement to our student-centered, residential living experience.  Based upon the utilization of the aquatic center since it opened on Thursday, I can tell it has already captured the enthusiasm of our students and quickly become a signature part of campus life.”
