Huntingdon Percussion Ensemble Wows Concert Audience

Montgomery, Ala. – In front of a large crowd of Huntingdon students, faculty, staff, and parents, the Huntingdon Percussion Ensemble produced a toe-tapping, head-nodding concert on Monday, October 23 in Ligon Chapel.  Under the direction of Mr. Brandon Mooney, the Associate Director of Bands / Percussion Studies, 15 student musicians showcased their individual and collective talents during the 75-minute performance.

Participating in the ensemble are Huntingdon students Victora Cayetano ‘25, Ava Crowell ‘25, Anthony Evans ‘26, Kalon Glover ‘27, Cason Guy ’27, Talia Holmes ‘26, Arthur Kelly ‘27, Jalyn Lewis ’24, Juantez Robinson ’25, Serena Shiflett ’26, Xavier Stoudmire ’25, Stephanie Townley ‘25, Layton Urban ‘27, Logan Wilson ‘24, and Alfred Young ’26.  Dr. Jessica Williams, an adjunct instructor of music, performed a vocal solo while Huntingdon music alumnus, Cam Nicely ’22, accompanied her on the marimba.  Mr. Mooney also performed a solo on the snare drum.

The Huntingdon Percussion Ensemble is part of the Huntingdon College Band Program.  The ensemble will join the concert band and the jazz ensemble for a Veteran’s Day Picnic on the Green, on Friday, November 10, at 11:00 a.m. on Top Stage.  All are welcome to salute our veterans and enjoy a patriotic concert on the Huntingdon Green.
