Huntingdon Prepares for Presidential Investiture
Montgomery, AL – Campus offices are preparing for a Huntingdon event in October that has not taken place since 2004 – a presidential investiture. The investiture ceremony, scheduled for Friday morning, October 3, at 9:30 a.m. will mark the formal installation of Dr. Anthony Leigh as the 15th President of Huntingdon College.
It is customary in American higher education to give a new president several months to get acclimated to the job before a formal ceremony and events surrounding the investiture take place. President Leigh has scheduled his investiture ceremony and events to coincide with the 2025 Homecoming and Family Weekend.
Weather permitting, the investiture ceremony will take place on the Huntingdon Green on October 3 at 9:30 a.m. The event is free and open to the public. Tickets are not required.
On Thursday evening, October 2, the College will host a Huntingdon Celebration at 6:00 p.m. at the Montgomery Country Club. Tickets are $150 per person to support the Heart of Huntingdon campaign. Please visit www.huntingdon.edu/investiture for more information on the event.
On Sunday, October 5, the Leigh family will host an ice cream social on the front steps of Flowers Hall. All members of the College community and the Cloverdale neighborhood are invited to join Dr. Leigh, along with his wife and daughter, in concluding this historic weekend in the life of the College.
For information about becoming a sponsor of the investiture events, please contact Dr. Brian Miller, Huntingdon’s Vice President for External and Church Relations, at brian.miller@hawks.huntingdon.edu.
