Huntingdon Presidents’ Character Initiative

Montgomery, AL – Huntingdon President Anthony Leigh and Huntingdon SGA President DeJon Gibby II ’26 are partnering together to invite all members of the College community to participate in the Huntingdon Presidents’ Character Initiative. 

Following President Leigh’s presidential convocation address celebrating Huntingdon as a college of character, he has teamed up with the SGA to invite all campus athletic teams, student organizations, and residence halls to place an emphasis on character in 2025-2026.  

“As a member of the Huntingdon College community, we have a responsibility to each other to be a person of character,” stated President Leigh.  “Good sportsmanship, academic integrity, and being a good person and a good neighbor are things that we should celebrate.”

President Leigh and President Gibby encourage all groups on campus to identify a Character Captain and to foster conversations and programming related to building lives of character.  

“I’m excited for our student body to be intentional in living into President Leigh’s declaration that Huntingdon is a college of character,” commented President Gibby.  “Being a Character Captain for one’s team or club gives more students an opportunity to lead and to encourage their peers to be the best version of themselves. I’m honored to lead a student body full of people of good character and to join President Leigh in shining a positive spotlight on the importance of character.”
