  • Sherry Leigh Lacey Farquhar ’13 and Robbie Farquhar ’15 welcomed a daughter, Elizabeth Ann Farquhar, in September 2025.

Graduate School Graduations

  • Jacob Kendall ’08 completed a master’s of divinity at McAfee School of Theology at Mercer University in September 2025.
  • Amanda Main ’21 completed a master’s degree in elementary education from the University of West Alabama in August 2025.
  • Kalon Williams ’21 completed a master’s degree in applied behavioral analysis from Capella University in the summer of 2025.

Retirements/Promotions/Honors/General News

  • Jacqueline Trimble ’83 was chosen by The Alabama Writers Cooperative to be the new incoming Poet Laureate for the State of Alabama.
  • Sam Blewis ’07 moved with her family to San Jose, CA to work with St. Paul’s UMC San Jose on building affordable housing and rebuilding a smaller church after an arson fire.
  • Marcus Washington ’08 has started a new position as Tuskegee University’s Graphic Designer & Licensing Manager.
  • Emma Spurlin ’23 has been hired as a registered nurse at CVICU at Children’s of Alabama in Birmingham.
  • Shannon McCarty ’24 has started a new position at the Auburn Marriott Opelika Resort and Spa at Grand National.
  • Will Pilgrim ‘24 won the most outstanding poster presentation at Lincoln Memorial University College of Dental Medicine’s research day. His research and presentation was titled, “Oral and Gut Microbiota Interplay: Microbial Translocation of Specific Bacterium.”

  • JoAn Cox Cooper ’51 passed away on August 19, 2025, in Auburn, Alabama.
  • Judy Watson Kingry ’62 passed away on September 8, 2025, in Dothan, Alabama. We send our condolences to Dr. Mark Kingry ’87, Beth Anderson Kingry ’88, Bryant Kingry ’94, Dr. Kevin Kingry ’98, and Allison Kingry ’19.
  • Eugene Montgomery ’67 passed away on September 10, 2025, in Dothan, Alabama.
  • Janet Terry Lakeman ’63 passed away on September 5, 2025, in Birmingham, Alabama.
  • Bonnie McClay Lindsay ’65 passed away on September 19, 2025, in Atlanta, Georgia.
  • Curtis Edward Britton ’67 passed away on September 17, 2025, in Santa Rosa, Florida.
  • Madeline Casey Baggett ’77 passed away on September 26, 2025, in Tallahassee, Florida.
  • Roy Addison Nutt Jr. ’83 passed away on September 15, 2025, in Vestavia Hills, Alabama.
  • Edith Johnston Crook passed away on September 2, 2025. She was a long-time friend of the College and generous Huntingdon supporter.
  • Robert “Bob” Fletcher passed away on September 7, 2025. He served as the President and CEO of the United Methodist Higher Education Foundation. We extend our condolences to his family including his son, Tyler Fletcher ’07.
