Seven Faculty Join Huntingdon

Montgomery, AL – Huntingdon College is pleased to announce seven new full-time faculty for the fall semester.  The new staff teach in the disciplines of chemistry, education, history, music, psychology, and sports science/physical education. 

• Ms. Courtney Furlong will serve as an instructor of psychology. She holds an M.S. in rehabilitation counseling from Auburn University. 

• Mr. Andrew LeMense will serve in the sports science/physical education program as a visiting assistant professor.  Mr. LeMense will complete his doctorate in kinesiology from the University of Alabama in December 2025. 

• Dr. Christopher Loftin will serve in the music program as the director of choral activities and music education instructor. Dr. Loftin has a Ph.D. in vocal music education from Auburn University. His research focuses on vocally and visually expressive choral performances as well as system of student leadership in choral ensemble. 

• Ms. Sarah Osborne will serve as a teacher education student success and field placement coordinator for the teacher education program. She has a M. Ed in elementary education from the University of West Alabama. 

• Dr. Vanessa Pickett will serve as an assistant professor of chemistry. She is a recent doctoral graduate in chemistry from the University of Alabama. 

• Ms. Jennifer Porter will serve as an instructor in psychology and has her M.S. in psychology from Auburn University Montgomery. Ms. Porter was an adjunct for Huntingdon last spring. 

• Mr. Adam Spivey will serve as an instructor of history. Mr. Spivey holds an M.A. in European history from East Tennessee State University.
