Huntingdon College Seeks Promise of Ministry Nominations for Second Year

Montgomery, AL – The Huntingdon College Center for Leadership in Ethics, Character, and Faith is pleased to announce the second annual call for nominations for the Susanna Wesley Promise of Ministry Awards. These awards are presented to a male and a female high school junior in each church who demonstrate promise for theological formation and active participation in ministry as clergy or laity. Named in honor of Susanna Wesley, the mother of John and Charles Wesley, the award recognizes her pivotal role in nurturing faith and leadership in her children.

“As we continue this tradition, Huntingdon College remains committed to supporting young people as they explore their gifts for ministry,” said Huntingdon College President Dr. Anthony Leigh. “By partnering with local churches, we hope to inspire students to deepen their engagement and leadership within their faith communities.”

Nomination forms for the Susanna Wesley Promise of Ministry Awards are available to all Methodist churches in Alabama and West Florida. Award recipients will be recognized by Huntingdon College and receive a certificate for presentation by their local church.

“Huntingdon has long been a place where individuals discerned their purpose and received training for ministry,” said Huntingdon Vice President for External and Church Relations Dr. Brian Miller. “The Susanna Wesley Promise of Ministry Awards are a way to continue that rich tradition while partnering with local churches.”
