Through the work of the Center for Leadership in Ethics, Character and Faith, Huntingdon College will engage our campus community and off-campus constituents in thoughtful and meaningful programming to advance these core values of the Huntingdon experience.

Under the leadership of the Rev. Dr. Brian Miller, the college will seek partnerships with a wide spectrum of entities to celebrate the importance of leadership that embodies ethics, character, and a faith-centered spirit.

Mission

The Center for Leadership in Ethics, Character, and Faith celebrates the people and the programming (academic, student life, Greek life, athletic, and campus ministries) that exemplify Huntingdon College’s highest character and ethical ideals.

Events and Resources

  • Speaker Bureau – Huntingdon College can provide speakers on issues of ethics, character, and faith for your classroom, club or team meeting, and event. Contact Rev. Dr. Brian Miller with your request.
  • Leadership Studies Minor – No matter a student’s major, the Leadership Studies Minor at Huntingdon College provides a foundation for ethical leadership in a diverse world.
  • Devotional Guide for the Season of Lent – Every year, Huntingdon provides a devotional guide for the Christian season of Lent. The College’s students, professors, staff, alumni, and friends contribute to the widely read publication. The 2026 Lenten guide, GRACE UNFOLDING is now available.
  • Light the Way Huntingdon College Writing Competition for TeachersLight the Way: Huntingdon College Writing Competition for Teachers – Any teacher in an accredited K-12 school in Alabama, Georgia, or Florida may submit one work of creative nonfiction that utilizes the topics of ethics and character in leadership. Examples of this genre are personal essays, factual narratives, contemplative essays, and literary reflections. Please review the submission information (pdf) for more details.
  • Education Character Partners – Huntingdon Invites Alabama Schools to be Character Partners.
  • The Susanna Wesley Promise of Ministry Awards – Awards are presented to a male and a female high school junior in each church who exhibit promise for theological formation and participation in ministry as clergy or laity. The award is named to honor the mother of John Wesley and Charles Wesley. It was Susanna Wesley who provided the education for her children. She also spoke prophetically about John’s important role in Christian history when John was just a child.

Huntingdon Student Advisory Committee

Selected by their reputation for leadership and high character, the Student Advisory Committee provides insight to the needs of the campus. Additionally, they act as ambassadors for character and ethical leadership on campus.
